Sometimes we're lucky. Something good happens. A new opportunity. Our good efforts gets reaffirmed and that makes us wanna set new goals to keep moving forward. More often than not tho' it's because we made a conscious effort to get that momentum going. It doesn't just magically fall on our lap, except in those rare instances when we're blessed with an incredible stroke of luck. Don't count on it! Get the ball rollin'! If you fail then you can at least say you tried and you'll gain experience so you know better how to do it next time.
