If at all, how much can the mouth width change when going from narrow to wide palate?

depends on your nose and lip fullness. if you widen your mouth the surface area of your lips diminishes. other factors such as chin projection and jaw width also play a role, mogger trait if paired correctly tbh. defo a noticeable change.
