So I tried taping my mouth during the night and in the morning tried removing the tape carefully and ripped my lips open and now they are scuffed. What do I need to do to not rip my lips to shit and btw... why am I taping my mouth at night?

Tape over your mouth doesn't help at all, maybe it will help you sleep a little better.
