basically its gonna be about these 2 guys lets call them jeff and delon for now (havent picked names) and i havent figured out the plot yet 100%
first they are gonna be friends from high school, during school the jeffs step brother/cousin or something (havent decided yet) is in a gang and kills someone/sells drugs etc... and is generally evil and manipulative. (lets call him jayden)
jeff testifies against him and he gets jayden 10 years for a drug/gun charge or something
jayden of course holds this againt him and plots in prison to take revenge when he gets out, he is extreamly emotional/vengfull and has lots of rage twards jeff for not protecting him, (he is kind of like kahn in the wrath of kahn)
after 10 years jeff and delon are 27/28yo lets say, as far as the characters go jeff is somewhat poor and delon is a by the book type so he studymaxxed and wageslaves
anyway delon has decent money and has an old porche or something which he cares about a lot, bieng rather lonely after his glory days in high school. the car will be an important symbol in the story
when jayden gets out of prison he comes to try and kidnap/kill jeff but he escapes, and realizes he has to get out of town
he leaves but ends up stopping at delons house maybe his car breaks or something im not sure yet
inevitably they leave together and travel across open western country getting followed and involved in car chases, shootouts etc... through this delon goes from a super high inhib rule follower to a more risk taking and passionate personality
eventually there is a climactic interaction where they defeat multiple of jaydens associates in the desert and jayden gets in his car to escape, delon has the choice to escape freely but he pursues out of anger and runs both cars off the road in the chase, after the crash they get out and delon chases him down on foot to kill him
there are also some alternative plot lines which share similar points but i cant really figure out how to make it work like where jeff dies in the middle of the movie sparking delon to track down detective movie style and brutally murder jayden rather than simply his building anger over the movie. or where jeff owes money etc...
i could explain the thematic meaning of the movie and characters, but that would take a long time
