It peaked a year ago with Squid Games. The last decent video he had was 6 months ago, the hand on the Airplane video.
The appeal of his channel was the game theory aspect of the contests. In the past 6 months he has done a lot of extravagant videos, that included little or no game theory angle. No care that you stayed in an expensive hotel room, or that you paid for people's cataract surgery.
His most recent contest included 100 people, ages 1 through 100. They were sequestered in individual transparent cubicles. The general premise was that the person that stayed in the cubicles the longest would win the million dollars. Predictably, few people actually quit in a timely manner and he had to resort to gimmicks to eliminate the rest of them. If the gimmicks were actually interesting challenges this could have been entertaining, but 90% of the "challenges" were either effective coin flips, or contestants voting each other out Survivor style (the most capable contestants getting voted out). BORING!!!
JFL that this obese woman finished second, an effective coin flip away from winning the million dollars. Any contest where this excuse for a human finishes second is crap.
