Fuuuuuu!!!!! Ive had some tenderness what feels to be in the pterygomaxillary suture area but then today (when I have a 4-5 mm gap between teeth) I got "POP" sound and a dull pain from what felt like the TMJ + pyterygoid with it dissipating to the temples.

With the new space I had in my mouth my swallowing mechanism seemed to have allowed more of the width of my tongue to exert itself on my rear palate (something my skull has not experienced.) Might have caused unforeseen problems.

I was at 48 turns (2 turns a day) as expansion was going really good then something painfully cracked. My temples are really narrow so that much force must've been under alot of stress on the left side.

Alot of pain to undo my subhuman 34mm IMW. Fortunately the midface benefits have started kicking in, looking fuller and adding more definition.

Usually 1-2 months expansion, then 6 months of letting new bone form but failed MSEs make it take longer. I had 3 MSEs due to 2 being failures taking almost a year with invisilign correction.

How old are you? Any IPD changes?

Did it increase your bizygomatic width

At wich turn did the split appear? Did you have corticopuncture?

Did your smile get wider? And did you notice any asymmetry?

Not really, wasnt at the zygomatic arch. A couple of mm of bimaxillary width.
oh no shit, do you thing you are gonna apply that much pressure to the palate without hurting?
I didnt say that the midpalatal suture was painful.....read again, I said the pterygomaxillary area felt pain in a quick skeletal event. I have read of no reports of sutures snapping apart, that was the surprise. The midpalatal suture tenderness was already expected.

18-22 over period of time
Did your smile get wider? And did you notice any asymmetry?
-Less buccal corridors
-Midface fullness
-Not visually present in the face but my lower jaw can primarily rest my bite on my left side due to expanded IMW. I will post my next CBCT scan if I can after expansion.

Splitting the bones in your skull hurts? Incredibile

Theres a difference between tenderness over a period of a 1-3 days of separation and SNAPPING of of perimaxillary suture in an instant.
I have not read any reports of sutures snapping, so it was unusual to me. I was expecting the midpalatal suture to split, Ive experienced it in 2 different MSEs.

If its successfully creates expansion it only takes about 1-3 months according to # of turns on the MSE then you wait about 4+ months for bone to settle. Key word being sucessful, which isnt always the case, its has a larger failure rate than the oversimplified powerpoint presentations depict. It will take up most of the year best case scenario, MSE failures are higher for male skulls in my experience and from anecdotes.

Do they charge you the full price again? I mean the MSE doesn't need to be changed does it it should be enough to change the TAD screws...

No, its included in the contract price, they do not install the screws in the same place as it would not hold. I was pushing it having 3 MSEs.

Invisilign takes up 3/4 of the cost of treatment.

jfl and here I'm coping with hard mewing when literal metal failed to split this nigga twice :feelswhy:

Update:
So it turns out I am a dumbass and expanded too much, apparently I forgot that my ortho wanted me to stop at a certain amount of turns.
I had to reverse some turns because I have a subhuman lower IMW due to cross bite.

2 turns, I only got corticopuncture on 2nd MSE installation. It was enough drill punctures I thought my ortho was going to Home Depot.
