The problem is that how people view other people's gender is based on sexual dimorphism. If you were to take a guy and do all the cultural things like put a dress on him, give him long hair, makeup, etc, people will still perceive him as a guy who is just wearing a dress and so on.

If gender truly is seperate from sex then trans people wouldn't be getting surgery to make their faces more masculine, like brow ridge implants, or be on testosterone or try to raise their voices, because all of those are sexual characteristics.

So if gender and sex are seperate things and trans people are still trying to change sexual characteristics then it means that they are mentally ill. Which is something people in todays society do not want to believe, so they are forced to live with their contradictions, because to them being trans isn't something like schizophrenia that we should attempt to cure.

The only way this argument that sex and gender are different can be true is if trans people just started acting like how the gender they want to be in their current society act, which isn't the case.

I obviously think trans people are mentally ill, but I do not agree with taking away their rights or bullying or harrassing them.
