Shorter torso means less distance between your ribcage and top of hips meaning less hourglass and more inverted triangle

And a short torso makes your shoulders look wider simply because of it being short (think of fwhr)

Also I've never seen short torso get memed, but short legs do. A short guy with long legs will just be made fun of his height but a short guy with long torso will be made fun of his height AND legs (people always associate legs with height, it's subconscious). Also tall people tend to have longer legs in relation to height as well. Short torso/long legs for height is looked as aesthetic and high class because it can make you look taller than you really are (again, refer to people associating legs with height).

And ofc actually being tall mogs it all, but even in the tall world, longer legs mog. Also a longer torso not only means shorter legs but usually shorter arms too, and I don't think we need to discuss how important arm length is for a male.

Get a measuring tape and measure from the ground until the bones right next to your balls.
Divide that by your total height. Average is 0.46 I think. 0.48+ is very long, 0.44 below is very short.
