It astonishes me that users on this forum continue to create non-satirist takes on PSL versus Appeal. Thus allow me to cume forth with a representation of this dilemma from yours truly, Vass (aka Vasiliy Stepanov's descendant).
What is PSL?
It is common knowledge that the term PSL stands for the bygone Blackpill forums: Puahate.com, Sluthate.com, and Lookism.net. PSL was created by senior forum members with the intention to accurately measure attractiveness. Tiktokcels are known for using the term PSL and dimorphism/uncannyness interchangeably. However, PSL has no further relation to bones besides standard role bones play in perceived attractiveness.
Who you are attracted to is determined by multiple factors, primarily your genetic code. Environment and upbringing as well as hormonal state may play a role. All humans experience genetic variation. Therefore, it can be concluded all humans have difference in their personal "scales of attractiveness". However, this diversity is small.
The PSL scale was created as an objective and universal scale to measure the attractiveness of both sexes. One can say that PSL is the "average" of everybody's individual scale (of which is slightly variant). Therefore PSL is the most accurate scale you can make that is still universal.
As a looks scale, PSL includes every single factor contributing to looks including skin, harmony, coloring, hair, harmony; features of which are commonly associated with appeal.
What is Appeal?
There is no such thing as a scale of appeal. There is not, was never, and will never be a scale of appeal. Appeal does not have a solid definition but most agree that it is subjective and "fills in the gaps" of PSL. But how is this possible if PSL includes every factor relating to looks, and SMV is used to define non-facial factors of attraction?
I have a proposed definition of appeal that is both subjective and "fills in the gaps" of PSL. As mentioned earlier, genetics largely define who you are attracted to. And if you recall I mentioned that all people have slight deviation from their subjective personal scales to the objective universal PSL scale. The word appeal may fill in a gap here. While the deviations from personal and PSL scales are minimal, they still exist. Thus one may rank slightly lower in PSL, however he may just so happen to rank higher in a specific person's own scale. Alternatively, one may rank slightly higher in PSL, however he may just so happen to rank lower in another's personal scale.
One cannot on average rank higher or lower on appeal, by definition if they do, they would have ranked higher or lower in PSL. For every person that personally views another higher than their PSL rating there must be another than views them opposite.
This also means appeal is subjective and non-universal. Therefore one cannot "have appeal", instead they have appeal towards a specific person (or group). Moreover, ethnic groups tend to share similarities in their genetic code. Asians as an example tend to share closer genetic similarities to each other as compared to with an African. Therefore a group may have an uniform deviation from the PSL scale. However, this means there are others that deviate towards the opposite.
For example, "K Pop members" may have more appeal towards other Ricecels and less towards Negros. However one cannot "have appeal" towards everyone, because if they did it would be universal and therefore PSL.
Again there is no consensus or solid definition of the word appeal and this is simply a proposed definition that is both subjective and somehow "fills in the gaps" of PSL.
