I also asked for her for my hair to not be as short as the one that I showed in the photo.

She made it even shorter than the one in the photo.

ill try going to a womens salon next time

woman’s salon in general work better for longer hair, if you go to the average barber even if the one cutting it is a woman they’ll just mess it up. woman’s salon understand how long hair is supposed to actually sit and flow instead of just chopping it into some short clean shape. they actually layer it properly, know how to keep volume instead of flattening everything, and don’t panic once it gets past that medium length stage. most barbers are trained around fades, tapers, and short structured cuts so once you ask for something like a mod cut or wolfcut they default to overcutting or thinning it out too much.

salons are used to working with longer lengths, shaping it around your face, and keeping that messy natural look without ruining the density or movement.
