It’s his life. And if it’s just one day I don’t see the issue. Nowhere does it say one must attend church every week. I myself don’t go church every week as my church is in another city so it’s expensive to get there so I go once every couple weeks for Eucharist and liturgy.

If he usually goes church then just let the boy be as long as he prays at home on that day he will be fine.
