Back when I was 11 years old, I was playing video games, and my only problems were school and grades. It was a perfect time in my life. Until one evening, I got a text from a girl. She confessed her love to me and told me, “I’ve always loved you would you like to be my boyfriend” I was shocked. Never in my life had a girl texted me and confessed her feelings to me. I couldn’t believe it. I sent her a text saying, “I love you too.” She then called me, and I heard her friends laughing loudly in the background. They told me it was Truth or Dare and that she would never actually fall in love with me. I was devastated. Since then, I’ve been terrified of girls. I started seeing them as manipulative and almost devil-like, as if they were just playing with sensitive guys like me. I realized that sometimes, when something seems too perfect to be true, it probably isn’t true.
