However who is the "leader" in the class, there's always someone who is the most popular person and all the other people gravitate towards him. Sometimes there are multiple groups or cliques with multiple leaders.
Ideally you should be a leader, because then all the other people will come to you, if you are just a part of a group and the leader gets mad at you for some reason, all the others would start to avoid you too...

Had this happen to me TBH. When my ex broke up with me, all our mutual friends became so distant. Her best friend used to talk to me frequently now she acts as if she doesn't know me.
