He told me his girlfriend was pregnant. I simply responded 'oh okay when is she due?' / 'how long is paternity leave' / 'do you think it's affordable in this economy' / 'have you seen the cost of prams?' 
Bear in mind I'm quite close to this colleague compared to other people. Later during the day, he told other colleagues one by one. Their reaction was so different to mine. They were like "omg congrats, I can't believe it!! Well done
" giving him hugs, handshakes etc like as if he scored a world cup winning goal.
My reaction was so emotionless, so lifeless. Instead I was focusing on the negatives the upcoming challenges. He was probably expecting something else.
