So I went through that with my parents when I was 16 or 17 and learned a thing or two.

They cannot hold you there against your will as long as you talk to them and refrain from admitting certain things. If you ever said to your father that you want to hurt yourself deny it and paint your father as a liar who just wants to have you out of the house. Same goes for wanting to hurt anyone else.
