I’ve been actually day trading for a year (a year literally, I started this same day last year), and I can say that it’s gambling, but smart gambling.
Don’t expect to get income from it, unless you’ve been putting in the work for at least 2 years+ straight.

He's a retard, I have 6 digits net worth and I once thought of doing day trading as my main job, but then I found out that index investing beat my returns with low fees and stress, I sold all my individual positions and all in index funds and find a job to fund my expenses, best decision made

Your dad is retarded.

Day trading, especially in the U.S. is taxed high as hell. So even if you "make" money you still loose money after taxes.

Not to mention single people can't beat the teams of people with decades of experience, working full time, And Ai algorithms on the other side.

Then there's fat tail distribution of trades. So even if it seems like he's making money for a long time, all of his wins and then some could be wiped out in a single bad trade.

JFL if you think ten year old's in their basement haven't written software to back test every possible strategy using every possible indicator in every possible value input, in every possible combination. I wrote software to do that twenty years ago, and so has every kid who thinks he's going to "beat" the market.

The reason I never used it, was because of fat tail distribution, and the fact that the market is a complex system that can shift dynamics overnight without your algorithm being aware, so suddenly every trade that worked perfect in back test, and priors, looses all of your wins and then some.

Oui, he can but he should focus on Algo trading because the old way for the business doesn't work as you might think you need to compete against others smart guys with inside information + huge amounts of cashhhh maybe i will advice you to read these books:

Learn Algorithmic Trading: Build and deploy algorithmic trading systems and strategies using Python and advanced data analysis.

the others books:
ALGORITHMIC TRADING Winning Strategies andTheir Rationale
python algorithmic trading cookbook by packt
etc

cope, you sound like you never traded in your life

Jesus christ you gotta be like 40, why tf are you on this website?

Most of the advice on here is retarded and there's better sources online from everything from leanmaxing, to building muscle, to skincare but it's a nice little community of likeminded people with similar goals.

But as far as my life goals, they're exactly the same as when I was 25, to have friends and to be able to go on dates and maybe find a girlfriend if I connect with some one.

What you're wondering, is why didn't I just give up and rot when I turned <insert arbitrary age you think it's over at>? The reason is because aging is not an irreversible process like most people think it is. Anti-aging is a hobby, and people regularly assume I'm in my twenties in real life.

And even if you do wind up looking old, it's still not over, as companionship and friendship with women who look similar is still in the cards, and that requires looksmaxing. Then there's girls who are into older guys, so there's some options.

He can if he had at least 100k
If not he is just a zesty ahh

Well I never claimed that’s it’s over. You can have a positive mindset and keep improving. But the idea is to maximize it when younger so when one’s older it’s easier to maintain. Have you done any hardmaxxes?

I've never done hardmaxes.

But looksmaxing wasn't mainstream when I was younger. Pickup was. So I read/consumed all of that material, joined a lair and did cold approaches. I also spent a lot of time trying to optimize online dating and build up my social skills. And I went to churches and social groups to try to meet women, that never worked out.

From joining the lair and watching which guys were good with women, I eventually realized on my own that muscle mass was the most important factor (or at least that's the pattern I noticed).

So I started working out, and built up some muscle (Now in my late twenties) and eventually had a little success with very fat and ugly girls I met on ok cupid.

In my late twenties and early 30s I started getting more seriously into anti-aging and experimented a lot with that. By that time I was location maxed to Korea and Japan, and had a ton of success with women, but that was because I was location maxed and decently in shape.

Though I'm in even better shape now, I'm not locationmaxed, so I'm working towards my goal of locationmaxing (moving permanently).

But things take time, and everything is more complex and harder than you think, and life can have setbacks. My mental model in my mid to early twenties was, I'm a tall good looking toned white guy, I'll just keep doing approaches until I'm good at flirting with women, and then I'll be able to date have a girlfriend, probably some Japanese women are attracted to me and there's lot of japanese people in the area I'm living. But as you know, it's MUCH harder than that.

Your mental model is "I just need XYZ looksmaxes and then I'll be able to date and have girlfriend." That's because of the dominant paradigm of the age in which you live. But even your mental model might be missing a huge amount of steps, that I couldn't even tell you, and it could wind up taking 20+ years.

I know you think your generation has it all figured out, but every generation believes this, and society, technology, and how women choose also shifts, making a winning strategy very different as you get older. Looks, Money, and Status preferences of women shift as culture changes and how they prioritize these three. Say the economy breaks down, money could become much more important in a woman's choice for example, and if you spent more time looksmaxing, you'll be behind.

So you're constantly working and getting knocked back by shifts in society, and the dating landscape. You work hard as hell to adapt and time passes much faster than you could ever expect.

Work hard, do what you can, keep an open mind, and never stop learning.
