he is also not allowing me to have a job

i turned 16 recently and i have severe overbite, i have been permajutting for 2.5 years, nothing bad happened yet, i dont do too much i slightly push my lower teeth forward which affects both side and front.

i know this is nerfing me hard and it is getting late, at what age can braces fix overbite? or will i have to undergo surgery if im over 18. honestly this would cost me so much more. idk why he is not willing to pay

i will move out and try to work while studying but is mid-late 17 too late to fix my overbite through braces with elastics or herbs appliance?

if you have a severe overbite then i dont think braces are doing shit tbh, depends on the case tho

Mid 17 is oftentimes too late for a herbst. Considering you say you have a severe overbite, even adjusting the teeth wont really do a lot, since it's (probably) a jaw length issue.

Save for something else.

holy, how much and where did you get it?
i live in netherlands i had a jewish orthodontist who wanted to remove the upper molars to fix the issue together with elastics to pull the teeth back, i didnt fall for it, coped my way into breathing issues and narrow palate at a new orthodontist which hooked me up to a surgeon, i had to wear braces for 1 year and in the meantime i had bite plates to fraud my recessed mandible. it didnt cost me anything since i did it immediately when i was 18 and it was all covered.

Get treatment intelligently, most of the time braces will recess you. They call it camouflage orthadontics
