It would be understandable if you didn't know it was wrong - I myself have been shitty to people without realizing too - but you currently know what you're doing is wrong, so you can make the decision to be better.

I don't know about bipolar, but Asperger's can't be fixed by any amount of drugs, you've just got to learn, adapt and grow as a person. Granted, this will most likely be a lot harder than if you were NT - so you will inevitably make a lot more mistakes, but the best time to try and be better in the future is to start now.

do you think i shouldnt do whats best for me? i'm unhappy with what i have, and i plan on letting my girlfriend down easy. not just cheating and then ghosting her. i know what i'm diagnosed with doesn't explain what i'm doing and have done but my mum is narcissistic +aspie too. i fully feel like i'll never change. being genuine and empathetic seems fukin impossible. i have never showed care for someone or anything except for animals unless it benefits me and i feel like that's human nature. everyone is greedy and self centered

You sound like you have it pretty rough, maybe that's what causes you to not feel empathy - or maybe you're just born without the ability to feel it, but acknowledging that cheating on your girlfriend is wrong is a step in the right direction, proceeding to be honest with her would be the best for her, but also you as treating people poorly can come to bite you in the ass (word of mouth, revenge, etc).
