Rough ancestry breakdown:
50–55% Indus / Harappan
25–30% Steppe_MLBA
20–25% AASI / SAHG
Indus / Harappan:
Main base. Urban civilisation, farming, trade, cities, seals, drainage systems. Mature IVC was around 2600–1900 BCE. Likely broadly ancient South Asian in appearance: dark hair, dark eyes, brown skin.
Steppe_MLBA:
Bronze Age pastoralist layer, roughly 2200–1500 BCE. Linked to Sintashta/Andronovo, Indo-Iranian expansion, horses, chariots, cattle, warrior elites. More steppe/West Eurasian-shifted in look. I have about as much or more Steppe ancestry than Southern Europeans. This is the most interesting one to me because these people, the Indo Europeans, are the most significant and important. I have more Indo European ancestry as Achilles or all the other heroes in the Iliad and Odyssey.
AASI / SAHG:
Deep indigenous South Asian hunter-gatherer layer, going back tens of thousands of years. Oldest major South Asian ancestry layer. Likely darker-skinned, dark-haired, dark-eyed.
Simple version:
Mostly Indus Valley base, strong Steppe Indo-Iranian layer, and a solid ancient South Asian hunter-gatherer foundation.
I’m originally Pakistani, and these results are based on advanced models and this isn’t something you can just buy directly commercially.
