january - march 2024: i had a self improvement youtube channel that i made because hamza told me it was gonna make me money. over those months i accumulated 17 subscribers and 300 views. i even made anti blackpill content ironically. eventually my mom caught onto what i was doing and asked me if i had a youtube channel and i said no. then she found my channel and yelled at me mercilessly because i was swearing on the videos and thought old men were watching my videos to get off to. i got so embarrassed i just stopped altogether because my grandparents also found the videos of me swearing calling my viewers pussies like hamza would and my shirtless physique pics for the thumbnails

september - december 2024: i was much less redpilled and didn’t watch hamza anymore. but i was very into bodybuilding and i wanted to make money online. so i started making edits of bodybuilders like arnold, lee priest, kevin levrone and other manosphere guys like goggins. i actually hit 200k views on an arnold edit and gained over 250 subscribers but then i realized youtube sucks and doesnt pay you a dime even if you do get monetized. i also fucking hated editing, and everytime it spiked my cortisol to the fucking roof doing it on a old ass lenovo laptop trying to escape the matrix

tdlr; i made two youtube channels that flopped and one of them caused me lifetime embarrassment. and i’ve learned a lot since then

i mean any platform pays horribly if you’re not absurdly popular on it

any money people claim to get from these sites is from funneling off it, i attempted to do so but you need to be very popular and trustworthy

How much you earn depends on how many views you get; actually, it depends on the watch time. However, naturally, if you have many views, it's because people are watching your video long enough for the algorithm to start showing it to more people. And it depends on the audience watching your videos. The more competitive it is for advertisers within that audience, the better they will pay you.

Over the years I've followed some channels that spent a long time getting very few views, and today they're quite big. I believe it's really a matter of persistence. Unless there's some bug in your channel that's causing you to get 0 views or something like that. I believe that can also happen.

as a former youtuber who had 12k subs in 2022 before I quit, youtube does pay good but you need enough views aswell and to get those you need to make GOOD content like dopamine chamber type shi where ppl are addicted to your vid

Shorts pay way less than long form but its easier to get views on shorts than long form
