Basically, Jake Gyllenhaal goes to war and leaves his gf at home in the states. He starts to worry he’s getting cucked when she sends letters saying she’s good friends with the neighbor. He starts getting scared and having nightmares of getting cucked.
anyway, during movie time, a different marine gets a VHS tape from his wife that’s supposed to be The Dear Hunter with Robert Deniro. Turns out it’s a video of her being fucked from behind by her neighbor. He goes into a panic and breaks down.
Jake gyllenaal says “fucking faggot let’s watch it again” as soon as the other dude leaves. But, Jake’s friend won’t let the guys watch it. Jake stays there seemingly emotionless and not moving. He starts crying and says he wants to watch it becuase he wants to know what it feels like to watch your wife get fucked by another man (since he knows it’s happening to himself as well)
