I had my herbst appliance (with braces too) from ages 12-15. i had over 1cm overbite when i started, and a narrow palate. Everything in total costed my parents about 14‘000$, you can get your insurance to pay for it, we couldn‘t cause when i got the braces i had just recently switched insurances. The results were great, im close to 20 years old now, and with nice cheekboned, aligning teeth and no overbite. This is in my opinion this is a good replacement for a double jaw surgery IF you are like 12-18 years old and can‘t get surgery or something. It only hurts the first 2 weeks, and when u flip the screw inside the appliance to expand ur palate, it doesn‘t hirt at all. Check pics for before and after
