My macbook sustained (seemingly minor) water damage yesterday morning, let it dry for a whole day but now it just bootloops and overheats when I plug it in and won’t respond at all without mains power

I’ve had it for like 5 years, repairs are probably gonna cost more than its market value at this point might just get a new laptop
It served me well but macos is pretty inconvenient for the stuff I do

Whilst the build quality of macbooks is very good and they’re reliable and long lasting (when you don’t drown them) I don’t think I’ll be getting another because they aren’t great for my intended use case.
Theres a lot of software incompatibilities, I’m an engineering student and I had to emulate so much shit just to get things to work on macos
