My little brother keeps mouth breathing even during his sleep

Hes like 10 and already has the recessed jaw of a mouth breather and today i saw him snoring with his mouth fully open while asleep. He says he can't breathe through his nose and struggles... no idea why??? How do i help him... the foid in his class already bullied him for being ugly :feelsrope:
my brothers 10 but he’s not recessed he’s actually opposite some how it’s like god fucking blessed him but not me as a kid but he also mouthbreathes. kids won’t listen, invest in an expander soon and convince your parents before your brother ropes himself due to destroying his mental state

Tell him that mouth breathing will make him ugly...

Tape his mouth before he goes to sleep, he wont suffocate, it'll force him to breathe through his nose

Also tell him to keep his molars in light contact, whenever he isn't talking or eating(when his mouth is at rest).

Make sure he keeps good body posture and a slight chin tuck at all times

If he truly can't breathe through his nose than he could have a serious problem with his airways, this will truly cuck his development, visit an orthodontist or maxillofacial surgeon ASAP
He could have a deviated septum.

How do i help him...

Get him this. It's canned tsunami. It'll blow him clean, nose and sinuses, up and down. It's not a joke, this usually works. It's what doctors usually first recommend.

Amazon product ASIN B00NMKSTTY
If by any chance it doesn't work, get him to his GP trying Mometasone, and if that doesn't work, then the GP should send for an ENT physician. Chances are high he can get help.

I have deviated septum and enlarged turbinates since I'm a kid. I'm 27 yo now.
I'm not sure this issue can be addressed before full growth, but get him to a doctor ASAP just in case. (Could be dust mites allergy or Vasomotor Rhinitis too)

This is not just about recessed jaw, this kind of shit makes you sleep deprived all the fuckin time. Thus, leading to a rly huge amount of health issues.

ps : I can't imagine someone mouth breathing for the pleasure of it. You wake up with dry throat and headaches.

same thing happening to my brother. beyond over for him. even my family says he's not as good looking. he also has a crush on a buck toothed chink 😪

Get his nose looked at and get him tested for allergies.

Could be a dust allergy - switch to non allergenic pillows and duvet, make sure room is not carpeted and remove non allergenic sofas, rugs, etc.
Could be mould if your place isn't clean. Etc. Test will tell but dust is a reasonable guess if it's not seasonal.

Get an ent to look at his nose. Might need polyp removal (I forget the proper term) to open up his airway.

Closing his jaw shut etc is pointless. He can't breathe through his nose so his body is trying to stretch out his airway to get him more oxygen. Braces, clamping jaw shit, etc will just push the problem to other places (maybe stretched elsewhere, scoliosis pulling at one side more, problems from low O2, etc).
