Hey everyone, this is my one-year update! Since I recently hit my one-year anniversary on the site, I decided to make this post in reference to my first one, with a face reveal. I won't overexplain—just show the progress. All I really did in the meantime was stop looking for doubtful solutions and stick to my orthodontic treatment. I still haven't gotten bottom braces, which gives me a slightly convex profile, but it doesn't look bad in real life. My zygos are much more present now; I realized they sit a bit high, though they aren't super prominent from the front.
Besides that, I just adjusted a few habits, and overall I think it's pretty good. I won't go into every detail, especially since I still have about one or two years left with braces. The only habit I really kept up was chewing a lot of gum and thoroughly chewing my food in general—I take a long time to eat now.
One thing I noticed, especially in person, is that my face looks significantly larger. I used to be careless and kept breaking my braces, but just fixing a crossbite that had been a problem for years made a huge difference. I'm still asymmetrical, but in a better way—my bite is still pretty bad, btw. During my last checkup, my dentist mentioned she's trying to move the root of a canine—the tooth itself is already in place, but she's moving the root—which was the cause of everything. Maybe that's why I notice changes after almost every appointment.
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of compliments in person—some surprisingly specific ones, like about my eyes, which people never complimented spontaneously before. My goions are also much more defined now, even with the convex profile.
As my face grew, my eye area improved too. My zygomaticus became more prominent—even if they are still a bit flat—and I lost some baby fat. My eyes now look much more balanced: big, but without that "bug eyes" look.
That's pretty much it! I'll be back with another update next year since I don't plan on posting constantly. See you then!
Sorry for the "autistic" expressions and the messy thread; I still don't know how to use the site.
