i didnt really get a haircut after my dumbass barber fucked me up in october.:feelscry: i've been letting it grow and it's been getting rather long

however i wanted it to look more like that one jordan cut, with long sideburns and back and cropped fringe (the mod cut), my fringe before was covering my eyes.

so my mom, who used to be a hairdresser, cropped my fringe up to above my eyebrows by a little bit
like the picture below but with more volume and shorter hair on the back (i'm also brown haired)

1768507941494

so i'm really happy with it :feelsyay:
still going to grow my hair out further

@abzz
and hopefully i can use your guide in the near future to learn how to do it myself, but since my mother was so willing and did such a good job, i dont even think there will be a need :owo:

edit: it was just after i conditioned in the shower so thats a bonus :PepoHappy:

i am growing it, i literally didn't get a haircut in 3 months and when i did just now it was a small trim on the fringe hahaha. even when you grow your hair out, you still need to get it trimmed every so often.

Pretty good, actually. I went to see my friend from high school. He lives in another city but today he came here for his work. Turns out, he did a DNA test the other day and he showed me the results, and now I have his raw data file and I’m gonna do some research for him later tonight. What about you?

Hahaha yeah I’m gonna uncover his parental haplogroup, and I will look at his ancient breakdowns, and give him his closest modern-day populations and closest ancient populations.

Yeah. It really is interesting. Wanna know something crazy? Ever since I got into this genetics, I thought to myself often that it would have been so interesting to do some research into my friend’s heritage. And then like two weeks ago almost, he said “Look at my DNA results, I’m 11% Punjabi like you.” And I said, “No, those ethnicity estimates are incorrect.” And he said “I bet you want me to believe I’m 100% Punjabi, I’m not falling for that!” Made me cage when I saw that.

Yes, I’m studying to become a teacher in university, but we still get homework all the time. But even still, this month is my examination period so I wanted to revise for my upcoming exams and stuff.

ahh honestly genetics sounds like a super interesting thing to research, and it ties a lot into my own obsessions of history/geography. insane timing btw hahaha.
so, do you think that all DNA tests people take are inaccurate? how so , i have never had one, but likely it's almost entirely Gaelic Irish with some Norman / Anglo-Saxon heritage. typical for Ireland. I remember ChatGPT gave me an estimate once when I described my traits and answered questions in detail, and this is what he said I think.

ah that makes sense now. I wish you all the best in your studies bro:feelsyay:I myself have got Junior Cert Pre-Exams coming up in like 2 weeks, and then the big Junior Cert in June, I fear I am fucked :lul:

Genetics is so interesting, especially ancestry and stuff like that. Indeed, history/geography is intertwined with genetics, so you could delve into that. But you’d need a DNA test for that. So basically DNA tests for non-whites are usually inaccurate, like when it comes to ethnicity estimates like “50% Syrian, 10% Lebanese, 40% Persian” will be wrong. He tested with a company that is especially incorrect since they assigned him Punjabi as well as South Italian. He’s got neither such ancestry. But the raw data they provide is useful, and with that I can discover his paternal haplogroup and the other things that a regular DNA test doesn’t provide but you still can uncover as long as you have the raw data file. He had trouble getting the raw data file since MyHeritage doesn’t allow iPhones to download the file, but it worked on my Android phone. Had to change his password and log into his email using my mobile, so it wasn’t as easy to get it. And yeah, since you’re Irish you will likely have indigenous ancestry from there though standard DNA websites might misread Scottish DNA for English or French DNA for English. That happens as well. So it’s not exactly perfect.

Honestly sounds interesting. I have never really spoken with my parents about a DNA test. the thing is I am adopted, so I've got basically 0 knowledge of my real biological backround, thats why I think examining my DNA would be helpful to find out my ethnicity. Like theres a chance (although very unlikely) that I'm a few generations English or something else without knowing it because Ive got no clue about my actual ethnicity, I just assume it's entirely Gaelic, which is probably the case. It's cool that you're able to do that though ngl

these may be the first exams I actually revise for lmao. I just let my high autist IQ carry me into decent grades for most subjects. I didnt study for my previous Irish exam and got 91% :lul: But I may need to lock in for these exams, but one thing I know is that I have an incredible and quick learning skill I just dont have the energy or focus to use it, unless I actually want to. So yeah. Hopefully, all goes well. :owo:

Now that I think about it, I think I remember something about my adoptive dad (he himself is from Dublin) being English by a few generations. But I heard this ages ago, my memory might be fuzzy so I may ask him to clarify. But I could have sworn he said that his grandad or something was from England. I know that both of my parents are from Dublin (capital of Ireland) whereas I am from Cork and so are my biological parents (south of Ireland).

Yea I get offered sometimes to go and meet my real mom who I haven't met since I was little, and the last time (a few weeks ago) I refused it. But if the opportunity springs up again with my social workers, I might consider taking it. As right now I have very little knowledge of my biological background. I just figured out from a 2011 news article online that my mother had some very bad problems and some trouble with the law, likely why I had to leave her.
I don't really know, I think my parents might be fine with it but theyd want me to be informed on my real family and perhaps meet my mom again before taking one.

Aha thank you I honestly couldnt believe it :lul: although it fluctuates per subject, like I have failed science twice. :feelscry: When my maths teacher handed me back my 77% she said to me "good for someone who doesnt pay attention in class" hahahah, she is gone for maternity leave now but dude I swear she HATED me.
