I apply game theory logic. Before I explain, let me establish some definitions.

In game theory, you have participants, and there are 2 options:
- defect
- cooperate

When you defect your colleagues get less and u get more. When you cooperate you get slightly less but they get more.

Well it's well known defection leads to getting ahead...

But it's very short lived. Long term, repeated exposure with participants, cooperation actually leads to more success. There's been studies on this,

The "tit for tat" was deemed the best algorithm long term. It mixed a combination of cooperating, defecting when your participant does, and then forgives them when they begin cooperating.

That's the ideal way to live life. Someone cooperates with you, cooperate back. They defect, you defect. They begin cooperating again, you begin cooperating again.

However ...

The algo changes with something I call "the dormammu effect" which is basically "when you have so much power over another party and they have no reasonable way of retaliating against you... Then you are not bound by any rules, you are free to do as you please"

This means that you are free to do as you please to participants who cannot defend themselves, for instance... Fish.

I have caught fish, I have taken a knife 🔪 and stabbed them in the head to kill them... So that I may eat them. First time I did this I felt terrible and went into a crisis. And I realized... I am free to murder this fish, because there are no consequences. I am dormammu compared to that delicious fish 🐟.

The same applies to humans if you ever achieved extraordinary power to the point you're practically a version of Dormammu against them. If they cannot defend themselves, you are free to do as you please. If they can, you must cooperate.
