My mother always says people 1 year older than me are my age but people 1 year younger are way younger

Shes been doing this since i was in high school. I remember she was saying im basically adult and anyone younger than me is a child. Now she still does the same thing despite people younger than me being adults. Genuinely pisses me off ngl. Its like im not even allowed to be associated with anyone younger than me.

I got guessed as younger than my age when i was in my teens. A group of underage teens approached me and my friend and asked my friend if he could buy them alcohol. I asked them why they didnt ask me and they said they thought i was underage. Doubt its related to that
