My condolences man. I lost my dad to cancer when I was even younger than you. It's hard, and it makes you a radically different person.

If your mum doesn't survive, make the fucking most of it.

I know it might seem like you have time, but you don't. Ask her for advice, wisdom, regrets. Talk to her so that you don't hate yourself for years because you can't remember the sound of her voice anymore. Take pictures with her.

This might seem like stupid platitudes that you should "make the most of it". You think to yourself "yeah, yeah, of course I'll spend time with her, it's just that I'm in the middle of a game". You don't realise what you've lost until it's gone.

You'll yearn for one more hug.
