I’ve had tics my whole life, but my new is fucking annoying

I feel the urge to twist my neck and tense my neck muscles.

I walk around with neckpain 24/7 because of this.

HELP ME!

Yes I totally understand I’ve had it for years. Slowly it got less bad and I don’t even know why but it was extremely annoying. It’s like restless leg syndrome but in your neck and you need to twist your neck to get the tension to go away. It can look strange too to others which is also something you have to keep in mind at the same time. I wish I could give advice but I think we might just be cooked psychologically

Not really ocd. A tic is a ”habit” you really can’t stop doing. It often comes when your life gets more stressful

It started during Covid. This is why initially I thought maybe it started because I was home without a good chair. But it remained for years and as you say it might be more logical for it to be because of stress. Then over time it slowly got less bad. I still have it now but it’s not really an issue any more so not so bad. Maybe it’s something like Tourette’s idk I have autism and you know how some of these neurological things can overlap if you are unlucky in the genetic lottery

Ahh I know what you mean

I have something similar with raising my eyebrows. It always gives me headaches

Is there nothing you can do to stop it ?
