Transgenders:
Liberals: I will call you by whatever pronoun you feel you are!
Conservatives: You'll always be sex you were born and I don't care about anything else!
Me: I don't give a shit what you used to be or what you identify as. All that matters to me is what you LOOK like now. Whatever comes naturally to me, is what I will call you. If you look like a woman, I will call you she. If you look like a man, I will call you he. If you are a group of people, I will call you they, otherwise you can kindly fuck off. I'm not making an effort to call you something that feels unnatural to me. I stay true to my nature.
If I was a transgender, this would be my mindset:
I wouldn't want anyone calling me "she" out of pity or out of fear of being transphobic. I'd want people to genuinely perceive me as a woman and call me "she" spontaneously. If they're not doing that, it's because I don't look like a woman and therefore, for all intents and purposes, I am not one. If I'm not doing a good job in my transition then I need to step it up and I want to receive real feedback, not patronizing horseshit. It's not their problem I don't look like a woman, it's mine. I'm the one who wants to change. It's up to me to make it a palpable and visual reality. I wouldn't want anyone burdening themselves with calling me something that feels unnatural to them.
Likewise, if I'm working out to develop a good physique, I wouldn't want anyone telling me I look buff when I've only just began and still look like a twink. That wouldn't feel good at all, because it wouldn't be genuine. If anything I'd be deeply ashamed that people pity me so much they feel the need to lie to make me feel better. Only once I've actually earned it and people genuinely perceive me as buff do I want to hear anything about it. Anything else would just be dishonest condescending lies.
