My palate expander came loose and fell out last month.

I should have made this thread back then.

I had first started going to the orthodontist in december of 2024, I got my palate expander in april of 2025. My orthodontist decided that I needed MARPE, the expander that is fixed to your palate with screws.

For some reason, the orthodontist decided that my palate expander should not be removed when I went in february of this year. In may, it started to come loose and a day later it fell out (except for the screws, obviously). I thought it was a big deal, because my orthodontist had said earlier that it should stay. Turns out that it didn't even matter if it had stayed or not, I was stressing over nothing. The assistand said it wasn't that big of a deal.
