How? I measured it through the intermolar width because a thread said it was like that, but what i got seems to be wider than what's ideal, somehow my smile doesnt look wide at all.

Can someone tell me if i measured wrong, or if the ideal width is different?

A smile isn’t just teeth, it’s determined by soft-tissue dynamics too. Did you measure the palatal cups or second molars instead of the first molars?

Even if you have 5cm width, you could just have a short inter-commissure distance, or you might even have a yaw/cant of the maxilla so one side hides the back teeth. There are many reasons, is what I’m getting at.

Consider commisuroplasty after dental options get exhausted.

If your smile looks narrow visit a orthodontist for expanders. Because it could be a bite problem (Click the thingy on the right to mark as solution)

Thanks for the reply

Yeah i measured my second molars instaed of the first, my intercomissure distance isnt narrow at all so it might be the yaw/cant of the maxilla you mentioned

Im gonna go to an orthodontist soon to check this anyway so i hope my problem doesn't require any surgeries
