my parents both have wide palates and straight teeth but I have crooked teeth and narrow palate

my 3 half siblings also have crooked ass teeth with straight teeth parents
my half sis has just as crooked teeth as me but her palate is much wider
something important to note though is that her whole facial bone structure is on the wider side and her bone structure overall is bigger than average
but yeah, what my siblings do share is the same exact american diet and upbringing
while our parents grew up in Haiti eating a very different diet
but at the same time, americans be having straight teeth all the time despite trash diets
so I don't get the genetics vs environment on this

What did they eat in Haiti? I can't imagine it was that much better, did they really get meat and tough foods everyday? Since it's a poor country I assume their diet was mostly carbs.
