I reached out to a well-known woodworks shop in their city. Showed them these pics and paid an advance of ₹60,000 (around $800) to get the process started and then go my parents house to have them take the measurements

My dad was at home when the carpenter came by. He asked how much I had paid, and when he heard the amount, he got upset. He called me and scolded me for being careless with money, saying, “Two lakhs($2500) for a sofa? Are you out of your mind? Do you think money grows on trees or what?”

I tried to explain that quality craftsmanship comes at a price and that the current sofa needs a replacement but he wouldn't listen. He told me to cancel the order. He also told me I need to learn budgeting and control my spending habits. Theh getting out of control. He told me I have 0 impulse control. I just wanted to be nice wtf

from my experience there's a lot of survivorship bias when it comes to paying extra for stuff. You only really remember the times when you paid extra for something and it still works fine a like a decade later and forget the majority of times where its not clear that you even gained anything from paying more.
