my parents threatening me to cut my hair or they will cut it while sleeping

hey everyone, i know this may sound dumb but

my family been asking me to cut my hair since a year for now, i was living aboard for studies, but now im returning home after summer break ( just for like 1 momth )

they keep hinting at me that they will cut my hair, i have one of the best hairs u can see in my home country, but they see long wavy hair as “ gay “ and “ feminine “ ( avg arab family )

how can i stop them? should i wear a headband or whatever black ppl wear while sleeping all over my head with a tie every time i sleep?
