Azerbaijan Azeri. Iranians are something else

More like @Nectar
Many Azeris live in northern Iran, bordering against Azerbaijan. They are the second-largest ethnic group in Iran after the Persians. Genetically, Azeri Iranians overlap with Ottoman Turks as well, or at least on PCA plots.

Uyghurs, Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgz, Azeri, Turks.

They are all turkic. Some more subhuman than others
I’m aware that they are Turkic, but that is a linguistic grouping. I don’t think they are all genetically similar.

Genghis Khan and his mongol counterparts did enough damage for us to be closely related. But I think they got cut off by the Caspian Sea which doesn't make them similar to Turks and some Iranian Azeris

Yeah, the Mongol Empire is the reason why Central Asia experienced a population shift. Turkic tribes lived side by side with the Mongols in East Asia before migrating westwards with the Mongols. You knew all of this already, though. Many modern-day Central Asian peoples are basically a mix of the existing Central Asian Indo-Europeans and the invading East Asian Turkic peoples. Only exception would be the Hazaras in Afghanistan, who are descended from the Mongols. They are, however, considered Iranic instead of Turkic or Mongolic because they speak Hazaragi, which is a variant of Persian.
