My psychiatrist miss diagnosed me and assigned me medicine that I don’t need.

So I went to a psychiatrist regarding my psychologist thinking I’m 100% ND and wanting me to check out for my self in order to get medicine to help me focus etc. I go to this psychiatrist to diagnose myself, this dude is asking me questions for like 30 minutes, I kinda explained about my hyperfixation on looks and wanting to improve, along side other things that clearly show ND behavior like my impulses hyper fixations focus problems etc and this dude ends with you got anxiety disorder I’ll prescribe you an antidepressant and an antipsychotic for sleep… What should I do? Change psychiatrists? Listen to him? I’m fucking lost lol

I suspect of audhd. Honestly, if I was a self diagnosing retard that throws around that word I wouldn’t be blaming my psychiatrist but the thing is my psychologist literally stated that 100% I’m ND. She suggested I go to a specific one but I went in another one due to the one she suggested being available in over a month. Big mistake. I honestly can’t believe 30 mins of questions are enough to rule out most neurodisorters and label me a candidate for antidepressants and antipsychotics lolll

Take those medications as in show you got them from the pharmacy(if they can check this), throw them in a bag at home and then go back a month later saying the shit didn't work or made you feel worse. For ADHD stuff you may need to "fail" improving from first-line ADs and shit to show "it is something else than anxiety or depression" to start being pushed towards being ND with ADHD and getting prescribed stimulants. Take this from someone extremely experienced with psychiatry since their teens.

I have ADHD too but took a damn while to reach stimulants BTW.

Of course not, ND investigations take longer than your first visit to a psychiatrist. They will never say you have ADHD at a first visit unless you got a doctor in a country like the US eager to keep you as re-visiting patient from the first visit. Any other country it takes some time and effort to get ND diagnoses and stims for ADHD.

My main problem is that he not only didn’t find it, he ruled it out, he says he doesn’t see any neurodivergent traits. Also on the paper of my diagnosis he stated without telling me on the session of believing in a disorder than he can’t yet confidently diagnose. That’s just bs. My psychologist told me to expect multiple visits for ND evaluations. Anyways. This shit is bs.

Go to that one then dude. Why see this other asshole? Also antidepressants often suck ass they rarely make you "happy" unless you are truly very depressed and they fit your biochemistry perfectly. Many times people just zombiefy lol. I hate how people call them "happy pills" when they often don't do that lol.
