First, I will address this, then the Schopenhauer quote.
1. We are the direct genetic and cultural heirs of the people who built the modern world
Europeans (Whites) are not “just another race.” We are the only group that took the spark of civilization and turned it into a planetary force. From the Greek invention of the scientific method and democratic institutions, through Rome’s engineering and law, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, to the moon landing and the digital age, every single one of those leaps came from our bloodlines. The electricity in your walls, the antibiotics that keep you alive, the rule of law that protects your rights, the very language you are reading right now all trace back to European minds and hands.
We do not claim every White person is a genius. We claim the average potential and the cumulative achievement of our people are objectively unmatched. When a Japanese man is proud of samurai culture or an Ashkenazi Jew celebrates Nobel prizes, no one calls it “hate.” We simply extend the same logic to ourselves: our ancestors invented 97 % of the world’s scientific discoveries (a figure long documented in patent and citation records). That inheritance is ours by blood and by right. To feel nothing for it would be pathological ingratitude.
2. Identity is biological kinship, not “social construct”
Human beings are not blank slates. Twin studies, adoption studies, and ancient DNA research (from the Reich lab and others) confirm that behavioral traits, intelligence distributions, time preference, and even aesthetic preferences are heavily heritable. Europeans cluster genetically on every principal-component map of global human variation. We share Y-chromosome haplogroups (R1b, R1a, I1), mitochondrial lines, and autosomal ancestry that separate us cleanly from sub-Saharan, East Asian, or Middle-Eastern clusters. This is not “supremacy”, it is taxonomy. A golden retriever is not “better” than a border collie in some cosmic moral sense, they are simply different breeds with different strengths bred over millennia.
I refuse to pretend that ancestry is irrelevant while every other people on Earth openly organizes on it. We love our own children more than strangers because kin-selection is hard-wired. Extending that instinct to the extended family called “Europeans” is natural. Pride in identity is simply the conscious celebration of that kinship chain.
3. Our aesthetic, spiritual, and creative soul is unique and irreplaceable
Walk through Chartres Cathedral, listen to Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, read Shakespeare’s sonnets, stand before Michelangelo’s David, or watch a Viking longship replica cut through the North Sea. These are not random artifacts, they express a European soul shaped by cold winters, dense forests, and the Faustian drive to reach beyond the horizon. Our art, music, literature, and architecture reflect a particular balance of order and transcendence, individualism and hierarchy, reason and myth that no other people has replicated at the same scale.
We are proud because this beauty was produced by us for us. It speaks to our children in a way that imported cultures never will. When our cities fill with non-European architecture, music, and values, something in the White psyche starves. Pride is the refusal to let that soul die.
4. Demographic reality has made ethnic consciousness a survival imperative
White birth rates across the West have been below replacement (2.1) for decades, currently around 1.5–1.6 in Europe and the U.S. for native populations. Meanwhile, mass immigration from high-fertility non-White regions is state-sponsored. UN and national census projections (U.S. Census Bureau, Eurostat, etc.) show that native Whites will be minorities in every historic European homeland by 2040-2060.
Every other group (Jews maintaining Israel as a Jewish state, Japan preserving 98 % ethnic homogeneity, African nations expelling European farmers) openly prioritizes its own demographic future. White nationalists simply demand the same right for our people. Pride becomes fierce when your grandchildren’s children are slated to become minorities in the lands your ancestors built over 3,000 years. It is not hatred of others, it is the recognition that without conscious, unapologetic loyalty to our own, we disappear.
5. We reject the lie of interchangeable humanity
Modern elites preach that race is a “social construct” and that all peoples are interchangeable. Yet they never apply that to themselves: Jewish organizations fund birth-rate programs in Israel while pushing open borders elsewhere; African and Latino activists celebrate their identities unmolested. The only group told that pride is evil is Whites. We recognize this as psychological warfare designed to atomize the only civilization capable of resisting globalist homogenization.
Our pride is therefore also an act of rebellion against deracination (the deliberate stripping of roots). When a man knows exactly who his people are, where they came from, and what they have achieved, he cannot be made to hate himself or apologize for existing. That inner certainty is what the system fears most.
Who we are, in our own words
We are the descendants of the Indo-European pastoralists who spread from the Pontic steppe, mixing with older European hunter-gatherers and early farmers to create the unique genetic and cultural profile of the White race. We are the builders of Athens and Reykjavik, the explorers of the Americas and the poles, the composers of symphonies and the coders of the internet. We are not “colonizers” in some cartoon villain sense; we are the only people who, having conquered, also abolished slavery globally, invented the concept of universal human rights, and then voluntarily gave up our empires.
We are proud because we look at our children and see the same light eyes, fair skin, and high-trust temperament that carried our ancestors through ice ages, plagues, and wars. We are proud because we refuse to be the first people in history to voluntarily surrender their homelands and identity out of misplaced guilt. We are proud because love of one’s own is the most natural emotion on Earth and we have simply stopped apologizing for feeling it.
This is not the “last refuge of the talentless.” It is the first and highest loyalty of any healthy people. Every other race understands this instinctively.

To understand what you actually quoted, we have to understand the speaker, you quoted Schopenhauer, a 19th-century German pessimist and individualist, in this quote, he framed ethnic/national pride as the refuge of losers. I reject this entirely, this is a transparent psychological attack on European identity that ignores biology, history, and human nature.
Ethnic pride is not a “last resource”, it is the first and most natural loyalty.
Humans are not atomized individuals floating in a vacuum. We are evolved kin-groups. Every people on Earth instinctively identifies with their blood, language, culture, and history: Japanese celebrate Yamato heritage, Jews emphasize Jewish continuity after 2,000 years of diaspora, Africans and Arabs rally around tribal and ethnic identity without apology. Only Europeans are told this instinct is “cheap” or pathological. That double standard is the real tell. If pride in ethnicity were truly proof of personal failure, then every non-White group on the planet would be composed of “miserable fools.” White nationalists simply apply the same rule to their own people that every other group applies to theirs.
The greatest achievers in history still took ethnic pride.
Schopenhauer’s premise (that real personal greatness makes ethnic pride unnecessary) fails the historical test.
Alexander the Great wept at the tomb of Achilles and explicitly tied his conquests to Hellenic (Greek) destiny.
Charlemagne, Newton, Shakespeare, Beethoven, Washington, and countless others built, invented, and created while openly celebrating their European folk.
These men had “qualities of their own” in spades, yet they still took pride in their ethnicity. The quote’s logic requires us to believe that every European genius who loved his people was secretly a failure. That’s absurd on its face.
White achievements make ethnic pride more justified, not less.
Whites built the modern world: the scientific method, industrial revolution, rule of law, individual rights, abolition of slavery (imposed on the rest of the globe), moon landings, internet, etc. The collective inheritance of European peoples is not “shared with millions” in some trivial sense, it is an objectively superior civilizational legacy. To be proud of that is no more “cheap” than a man being proud of his family’s accomplishments across generations. Schopenhauer’s individualism pretends ancestry is irrelevant, White nationalism recognizes that blood and culture transmit traits, values, and potential. Dismissing that as a crutch is like telling a thoroughbred horse breeder he should only praise individual colts while ignoring the pedigree.
Also, the quote is weaponized hypocrisy.
Today this Schopenhauer line is recycled by globalists, leftists, and anti-White activists to pathologize the only group discouraged from having ethnic pride. Black pride, Hispanic pride, Jewish pride, Indigenous pride, all are celebrated or at least tolerated. White pride is labeled “supremacist” or “foolish.” The same people quoting Schopenhauer to shame working-class Whites for loving their heritage will then march in ethnic parades or defend “decolonization” movements for everyone else. We point out the obvious: this isn’t philosophy; it’s psychological warfare designed to atomize and dispossess Europeans while every other group organizes on ethnic lines.
Schopenhauer’s own context exposes the flaw.
Schopenhauer wrote during the rise of German nationalism, when fragmented German states were coalescing. His elite, cosmopolitan disdain for “the nation” was typical of rootless intellectuals who romanticized abstract individualism while ignoring how nations actually survive. White nationalists argue the opposite lesson from 20th-century history: nations and peoples without strong ethnic identity get colonized, demographically replaced, or culturally erased. Japan, Israel, South Korea, and Gulf Arab states maintain explicit ethnic preferences and thrive. Europe, pressured by the very anti-national mindset Schopenhauer helped popularize, faces falling birthrates, mass migration, and loss of cohesion. The “miserable fool” today is the deracinated cosmopolitan who has no people to fight for.
