Usually just by measuring your average heart rate and morning, after breakfast and afternoon temperatures

I don’t recall what the optimal temperature is but a heart rate in the 80-95 BPM range with a warm body temperature is good

But usually you can tell if you’re hypothyroid or not just by monitoring how you feel, if you feel stress, sluggish, with brain fog, or have ADHD like symptoms, it’s likely that your thyroid function is being inhibited

Sweet fruits, milk are good along with avoiding unsaturated fats and hard to digest starches
