i only apply it under my eyes stings a little with redness but not to the extent you’re saying

If it hurts, just take a day off and do it the next day. That's what I do. also make sure to put moisturizer always

Start with atleast 0.05% preferably lower do not go overboard in the beginning.

there is an adjustment period that lasts 3-6 weeks. Plus if you are young you don't need to be applying retinols every day. twice a week is fine for your twenties. Just use other stuff like vit c, niacin, RLT in between.
