My spam text count is going up rapidly. Anyone else noticed this?

I get about 15 spam texts a month currently. Six months I was getting about 6 a month. A year ago about 3 a month. And I am not talking about texts from companies I have a relationship with, just rando texts to buy viagra or scam texts pretending to be Amazon or Home Depot. I am sure they spoof their number, it isn't even worth researching that.

What can be done about this? It is a minor inconvenience now, but in 3 years I will be getting 300 spam texts a month.

What can be done about this?

change your number/email address, you probably used it on some shit website before that either got hacked or sold its customer's information.

I've noticed the same trend after leaving my number at restaurants/cinemas etc. when government enforced covid tracking in my country, and scammers thus probably (and rightly so) think I'm retarded for complying with it.
