yeah that's something i noticed with my own face which is why i keep a small goatee on my chin. it really helps make it look angular (which is law when u have wide/tall chin) and actually makes it look smaller compared to when i clean shave itMany people underestimate "Softmaxxing" these days. Goateemaxxing Can easily hide your long philtrum. Gandy hides his long philtrum with one too. His chin-to-philtrum ratio is still great, but a "longish" philtrum still looks shit IMO. I would really advise anyone to grow a Goatee, it can improve your looks drastically and is one of the only things that actually work.
Most celebrities rock a Goatee, so should you.

2. ColoringThe Goatee will improve your coloring. Most "moggers" look a lot worse without the ideal perfect coloring, which a Goatee can surely boost.
3. Frauding chin height and philtrumJust keep the chin hair a bit longer if you want to fraud additional chin height and the moustache a bit thicker to hide a long philtrum.

Especially good for people with short lower thirds and long philtrums.
4. No risks
The Goatee won't have any downsides.
Won't disturb the appearance of your hollow cheeks. Also won't "reduce your appeal" to younger girls. Facial hair isn't niche, obviously still depends on the type of facial hair.
The only way a Goatee could potentially cause problems, is if you already have perfect bones. Since you are on this forum that won't be the case anyway.
For example it wouldn't exactly add any points to individuals looking like this:

besides like my org title suggests, i have a pretty ogre bone structure anyways so it's not like clean shaving would give me more "prettyboy appeal" or whatever.

perhaps but i also noticed that it usually does look good on guys. it's one of the facial hair types that is usually a boost for men. unless u have fucking cro-magnon tier bones or archie tier soft features it's a net positive

Exactly a goatee can benefit you greatly in adding some chin height to your ogre (but awesome
) chin.Literally like that facial hair style was made for you. If I remember correctly your philtrum wasn't bad though, but it is still a nice addition keeping the moustache sometimes.
On most average-looking guys in general rocking a Goatee just mogs. Like you said, if someone has too much chin height it may be unnecessary, but it's still a great addition. Only in the fewest cases it would be a looksmin.

Interesting take, I agree growing a goatee is a good option for many people. The whole notion of “light/medium stubble” is an absolute cope and completely ruins your appeal to young girls, maybe this worked 10 years ago so it’s why it’s still said. A stache is also acceptable.
