I’ve come to this conclusion that he was incredibly overrated as a player who’s legacy hinges on those 2 goals he scored against Brazil, despite not even being the best player for France. Zidane’s club career for a player of his calibre is so overrated and he really didn’t do anything great for Juventus or Madrid. Zidane was arguably a better player for Bordeaux than he was at Juventus or Madrid tbh.
Zidane is the most overrated footballer in history. His stats are not even comparable to players like Ozil, let alone world class midfielders like Zico, Maradona, Laudrupp.
He relied on flashy moments and 80 iq cigarette smoking dummies praising his chimp skills.
If you go deep enough you will find that even though he played as an attacker his whole career (never played a deep role) and still managed to put up absolutely garbage numbers.
