I just heard he is living terribly back home, asking for even a single dollar to buy Milk, it broke my heart when i heard the news even if he Wasn’t my apart of my family any elderly vulnerable people who are asking for food/drink I would give em 100X more than that

I’m soon gonna surprise him with 10k I wana give him the best life even tho I barely know him, inshallah he’ll live long only thing I’ll ask from him is to make Dua for me live to 90

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Allah commanded the angel to write the lifespan, and said: If he upholds ties of kinship, I will increase it by such and such, but the angel does not know whether his lifespan will be increased or not; rather Allah knows how things will turn out. Then when the end of his lifespan comes, [his death] cannot be brought forward or put back. End quote.

Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa (8/517).

That is because Allah requites a person in a manner that matches the nature of his deeds. So whoever upholds (wasala) ties with his kinfolk, Allah will extend (wasala) his lifespan and provision in a true sense

In sha Allah his situation will get better, it’s great to see that you still care about your grandfather. Not many people do these days. If you can, lend him a hand.
