this ties into what it means to be edgy in the first place. Your entire goal is to gain a reaction out of people by being as opposite to the mainstream narrative as possible.

so that would include saying the n-word, being alt-right, etc.

however, we can even take this one step further, as i've recently seen a rise in people supporting zionism on the org. This is because there are several narratives in the US.
- classic boomer narrative (regardless of conservative or liberal): Israel is a friend of the US
- mainstream gen z narrative: Free Palestine (this is strongly influenced by gen Z Muslims in the West as well as Vietnam war era "we want peace" ahh movements)
- initial alt-right narrative: Fuck the Jews!
- recent rise in Zionism in incel space: a direct counter to the mainstream gen z narrative, it fully proves the theory that edginess triumphs any and all ideologies when kids with ample free time and no social life are given access to the internet

its very odd, because I promise you if alt-right was very mainstream, then alt-left ideologies (a more violent and edgy variant of them) would emerge and be considered edgy and incel behaviour
