Arms length away 1.4-2x crop with the FRONT facing lens on an iPhone is the closest you will get to a decent smartphone selfie

Mirrors double the effective optical distance (light goes to mirror, light goes back to lens) so it's more "life like"

It is still a reversed image however. But definitely more accurate than a wide angle lens on a smartphone

If you want to test this try holding your smartphone close watching your ears and then slowly pan in and out
