Now, before we dive into the nazca lines, let’s ask this
Who were the nazca people?
The Nazca were an ancient pre incan empire society that flourished along perus southern coast from roughly 100 BCE to 800 CE.
Beyond creating their famous desert geoglyphs, they were master engineers who built underground aqueducts to farm the desert and crafted pottery.
Nazca lines
The Nazca Lines are a series of massive ancient geoglyphs scraped into the desert of southern Peru over two thousand years ago.
Now here is the “bamboozling” part about this is, what baffles people is that these giant figures can only be fully recognized from around 1,600 feet up in the air, leaving experts completely stumped on how a culture without aircraft managed to map out such precise, massive designs on the ground.
To make them, the Nazca people cleared away surface rock and sand to expose the pale ground underneath, creating hundreds of miles of animal outlines.
Fun fact: Because it almost never rains or blows wind in this desert, footprints and made from back during their time are still perfectly preserved today.
