Just finished with an ortho consultation with the main complaints being an uneven bite, asymmetrical bite, and a small mouth. Ortho told me that the main things that they see are a slight overbite (last pic bottom right), front teeth turning outwards, a misaligned bite (middle pic bottom), and inturned canine (top left pic).
They proposed class 1 braces with bands (bottom left pic) to fix overbite, and correct misaligned bite as well as inturned canine tooth. I've had braces before with bands but never used the bands.
I have heard that elastic bands on teeth can cause recession on the face, and I want to avoid this. It feels like my entire face
is tilting one way along with my bite, and I have asymmetries that show this "tilting". I brought up the asymmetries and he said "everyone has asymmetries and they can't really fix it", but I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to actually combat this.
TLDR: Ortho suggested braces with elastic bands, wondering if this is a good route, if not what should I do?
