Need dreadlock haircut advice (blackcels get in here)

I'm going to the barber tomorrow morning and was wondering what shape up I should get for my locs.

I was thinking high top locks,but slot of people said they regret it and it looks bad for premature/ short locs.

Do I get a taper fade? Cut off some of the ones on the side?
